Highly purified, sensitive polymerase for PCR and pathogen detection.
DFS-Taq DNA Polymerase is a unique, unmodified, thermostable polymerase isolated from Thermus aquaticus strain YT-1. It has a size of 94 kDa.
DFS-Taq is suitable for all common PCR applications. As it lacks contaminating DNA, it is also ideal for pathogenic bacteria detection. DFS-TAq polymerase circumvents the generation of false positives given the lack of contaminating DNA.
DFS-Taq catalyzes the polymerization of nucleotides into duplex DNA in 5'-3' direction in the presence of magnesium ions and possesses a 5'-3' exonuclease activity. Fragments up to 5 kb can be amplified.
A HotStart version of DFS-Taq is also available, containing AntiTaq antibodies for higher stability and reaction setup at room temperature. For a DNA polymerase with even higher purity, see SuperHotTaq DNA Polymerase.
